About Us
Hello, I am Stephanie Erickson. If you are seeking a space to process, release, integrate, and regulate, I would be honored to guide you on that journey. My work is deeply informed by nine years of firsthand experience at Banner Desert, primarily in the Emergency Department, where I witnessed trauma, crisis, and grief unfold daily. This background allows me to meet you exactly where you are, with a deeper sense of understanding. This common lexicon and shared experience creates a foundation for therapywithout the need to explain the unique realities of trauma, grief, or the first responder experience.
Before my hospital work, I served families through two intensive in-home programs, where I learned how trauma impacts not only the individual but also the family system as a whole. While my focus is on individual healing, I believe that supporting personal growth inevitably benefits loved ones as well. My passion is to be both a steady support and an advocate for those who feel isolated in their pain—whether from grief, trauma, or the unique challenges of first responder life.
Our Services
Trauma
I am trained in both Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Reprocessing Therapy (ART) for trauma therapy. I have found that not all people fit easily into one modality and have seen success with one when the other modality was not helpful.
Grief
I am trained through the MISS Foundation of AZ with the Compassionate Bereavement Certification. I present grief as a unique moment that is layered from previous experiences and moments. Grief therapy is focused on education and processing the loss and how it presents for you. My passion has grown to address grief has resulted specifically from my time working with trauma and death within the Emergency Department.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is the foundation for most therapy. CBT is one that we will explore habits, thought processes and challenges that repeatedly present within your life. CBT offers an opportunity to take a step back and explore how they impact your life and either restrict or support where you want to be. CBT is strongly linked with coping mechanisms and skill building.
Somatic Experiencing
I use Somatic Experiencing (SE), a gentle, body-centered approach that supports healing from stress and trauma. I’ll guide you in tuning into your body in small, safe steps, helping you release stored stress without needing to re-live painful memories. By noticing and supporting your body’s natural signals — like shifts in breath, movement, or sensation — your system can gradually restore balance, helping you feel more grounded, calm, and resilient, so you can move through life with greater ease and connection.
